I get a lot of visitors requesting a copy of the P90X fitness guide. I see a few originals on ebay, but you can download them for free here with everything you need for success. Tracking your progress from day one is extremely helpful in your workout journey. It helps you focus on the areas that need work and most importantly, seeing your progress on paper or on the monitor is very motivating. Success breeds more success. You can download the P90X fitness guide to your computer and print it out. I suggest creating a little binder with the printed fitness guide and the P90X workout sheets to track your progress.
The first thing you want to do is to sign in for a free Team Beachbody account. It will only take a second and then you can sign in and go to the Get Fit menu tab. From the drop down menu, choose Workout Sheets. If you are a Excel junky, scroll to the bottom of the page and get the P90Xcel spreadsheet. It’s very easy to track every aspect of the 90 day workout with this spreadsheet.
For those who prefer the analog version, you can download the P90X workout sheets, print them and put them in your binder. This is easier for a lot of people who like to keep the binder nearby during the workout and scribble notes as you go through it, however it is a bit less comprehensive.
How is the excel spreadsheet different from the original P90X Fitness Guide?
The content is pretty much the same, but in a digital format. The Excel version has additional components to record every aspect of your program. There are caloric intake tabs, the workout schedule, and sheets that you can print and track your weights and repetitions.
One piece that the spreadsheet does not have is instructions for the P90X fit test. There is a section for recording your results, but the instructions from the fitness guide are not here. You can download the Fit test instructions here. Print them out and add to your binder.
The original fitness guide discusses nutritional supplements available for you to use like the P90X Results & Recovery Formula, Whey protein and the P90X protein bars. The guide was created more than 8 years ago, so in my mind it is a little dated. Like any science health and nutrition moves forward as new and better discoveries are made.
Beachbody has created a few new products since P90X was developed and they incredible products. There is the new E&E, Energy and Endurance Pre-Workout formula. I have tried a few of the other popular pre-workout formulas such as Jack3d and those make me nervous. They contain DMAA or dimethylamylamine and made me very jittery and I did not enjoy the feeling. After 2 deaths from heart attacks, the military has pulled these off the shelves on base. They may give you energy, but I can’t believe that they can be healthy for your system and may even be hazardous.
The E&E formula has nitric oxide boosters, amino acids, natural energizers, electrolytes, and essential B vitamins and works for me. When you log into your Team Beachbody account, you can check out all of the supplements and see what works best for you.
I have been using Shakeology for two years and it has me feeling great and keeps my weight in check. Shakeology has an incredible list of super foods in addition to the basic vitamins and minerals for optimal body function. When I have had a cheat day with my diet, I use Shakeology for a meal replacement to get things back on track.
Otherwise, I drink one a day as a supplement. When you add a frozen banana and a little almond butter to the chocolate formula, this tastes like a huge treat to me. While the excel sheets do not contain any of the training advice and tips, there is loads of P90X training advice online at Team Beachbody. There are many articles from the man himself,Tony Horton, as well as Steve Edwards and hundreds of seasoned X grads who are happy to share their experiences. The original P90X fitness guide contains photos and descriptions for all of the P90X gear needed for the program. Each move in the program is described as are the modifications of each move. I have to admit, I never looked at the guide when I got started. I just put the first “How to Bring It!” DVD in and hit it hard. Tony explains everything you need to know for every workout.
Whatever you do, do not forget to take your Day 1 photo, you will be glad you did when you finish and you can see the total transformation. If you push play every day and you start eating clean, you are guaranteed incredible results.
